Multicomponent glasses subjected to PCT leaching for perilds up to 8 years show widely differing behaviors depending on composition variations and test S/V ratio. Samples of the reacted glasses with their associated alteration layers have been subjected to microstructural analyses using SEM-EDS in conjunction with XRD in order to determine the morphology of the structures formed and the identity of the principal phases. Replicas taken from selected modified areas have been examined using TEM to look for liquid-liquid phase separation.
