Structural Stainless Steel in Pedestrian and Short-Span Bridges

摘要

Stainless steel has been used for structural components, such as box girders and beams, in several pedestrian bridges and in one short-span bridge. Stainless steels allow designers to build visually appealing structures that provide exceptional durability, even in hostile environments. The corrosion resistance and clean appearance of stainless steels will help to reduce future maintenance costs. This paper reviews a combined road & pedestrian bridge in Menorca, Spain and pedestrian bridges in Sweden, Italy and the U.K.
