Visualization of Multi-Attribute Utility Models

Multi-attribute utility models are usually thought of as direct quantifications ofrnstakeholder preferences. A system alternative that receives the highest utility score is thernpreferred solution. However, in practice users often attempt to use multi-attribute models forrncomplex forms of decision making, such as new alternative synthesis or investment selection.rnSince more complex decision-making requires more insight into the multi-attribute data than arnsingle number, we have investigated methods for visualizing high-dimensionality utility data,rnespecially for utility-over-time applications. This paper discusses the visualization techniquesrnand presents examples.
