摘要

The paper outlines the methodology and development of a computer-aided knowledge-based modular insipection lanning system for preparing ispection plans from CAD toleranced component mode. The s ystem has the flexibility for integration with a co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM) for complete automation of the inspection process in an integrated design and manufacturing environement. The integrated inspection planning system includes: feature extraction; inspection probe planning and probe selection; proble accessibility analysis of ispection items; tolerance feature analysis, clustering algorith; path generation and inspection process simulation. The developed system allows simulation of the inspection precess at the design stage to evaluate the component for concrurrent engineering application.
