Strategic reusability is critical to customer satisfaction, low c ost, and rapid response. Enhanced QFD is extended upward to the level of the product family and thr product clan. Financial analysis provides the decision criteria for the planning of product families and clans. The decision modules of REquirements, COncepts, and Improvement (RCI) are repeated at the product levels of clan, family, and incividual product to complete the planning and implementation of product strategy. The described strategic resulability process includes the business-integration model, the strategic-reusability matrix, the Master House of Quality, the market-segment table, the product-reusability matrix, the technology-selection-room addition to the House of Quality, the market-segment/time product kap, the variety/complexity matrix, the functional tree, the product-revenue model, the cost/rusability quality matrix, and the Pugh concept selection matrix. This paper is the summary of four post-graduate-thesis researcn projects at MIT.
