Induced Gas Flotation (IGF) technology is well known inrnthe oil industry for its effective treatment of produced water tornmeet environmental oil-in-water discharge requirements.rnThis paper presents technical considerations for developmentrnof a new generation of IGF units, a discussion of the processrnkinetics, and actual operating data and performance analysis ofrna full size four-cell WEMCO? cylindrical depurator.rnA pilot test program was developed and executed inrncollaboration with ChevronTexaco Overseas Petroleum onrnplatform Gathering Station Mike, located offshore in CabindarnProvince, Angola. Pilot data indicates the flotation kinetic raternfor the oil removal from a four-cell cylindrical depurator isrncomparable with a conventional depurator.
