SOME EXPERIENCE IN TREATING PRODUCED WATER ON AND OFF SHORE WITH NEW GENERATION OF INDUCED GAS FLOTATION UNITS–CASE HISTORIES

Induced gas flotation (IGF) equipment is well known in the oil industry for its effective Treatment of produced water to meet environmental oil-in-water requirements. This paper will present Patent pending WEMCO cylindrical pressure vessel design incorporating many new features which implement improvement in several areas of interest such as equipment performance, reduced capital cost as well O&M costs. rnThe typical 4-cell is used for onshore application. The presentation will also include WEMCO DUAL-CELL DEPURATOR for offshore application to handle pitch and roll environments. rnResults of several months of actual field operating data of both types show that the flotation kinetic rate on the oil-in-water removal are comparable with the conventional WEMCO Depurator and at times even better.
