摘要

The purpose of this paper is to describe an analytical tool, which, when coupled with accelerated mateiral characterization, is capable of predicting long-term durability of polymeric materials and their composites. The analytical tool cosists of a specialized finite element code (NOVA-3D) that can be used for the solution of three-dimensional stress-analysis problems with large displacements and rotations. Some of the modeling attributes necessary for durability prediction of polyments and polymer matrix composites (PMC) are discussed below.
