MULTI-PROJECTION DISPLAY SYSTEM 'D-VISION' FOR URBAN DESIGN

摘要

This is a paper about the introduction of multi-projection system for architectural design evaluation and pre-experience system of urban design. For this purpose, we developed a new multi-projection display system, D-vision, which has hybrid screens. D-vision is a kind of new virtual environment system that has high immersion and high resolution display performance. In our system, we use a tiled-projection system that is composed of twenty-four patches of projection, and the screen consists of differently shaped' surface elements. Nowadays, the virtual reality technologies can be used in the many fields, and one of the most potential areas is the design field at the stage of evaluation. In this paper, we illustrate the features of D-vision and introduce the possibility of applications for the urban design evaluation.
