The skill of rational use of space is one the key elements in mechanical engineering education. Especially when teaching constructors the machine design. This skill both refers to the shape of designed object and the space in which it is to function. Projection of space is the basic aspect providing analysis and discussion upon proposed spatial management. So far in process of engineer education descriptive geometry, technical drawing and axonometric drawing were used as aiding subject for teaching space representation. The quoted subjects can be grouped into one class of Engineering Graphics, Nowadays the common introduction of integrated CAD/CAM/CAE systems operating three-dimensional geometric models has revolutionized this process making GAD-3D systems in Engineering Graphics studies indispensable. Howeve, in the age of CAD-3D systems the ability of making plane drawings (sketches) to create spatial forms is still in price. The sketch may become a profile used to generate the revolved or extruded bodies. With use of Boolean algebra these bodies may compose another complex bodies. In authors' opinion, this determines an new chapter of Engineering Graphics which should be present in educational process. In this paper the authors will present some examples of CAD-3D systems usage for teaching Engineering Graphics at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology, where Unigraphics and Solid Edge systems are employed for didactics.
