In order for gas companies to steadily supply gas at a fair price over an extended period of time, it is necessary to assemble optimal production and supply facilities which are able to handle an increase in demand, while at the same time offer an adequate level of reliability. A tool capable of making a quantitative appraisal of the reliability and safety of such facilities is aboslutely indispensable in order to draw a conclusion in a rational manner.
