This work reports the motion of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) dispersed in Blood and Distilled water mediums under an ac electric field. Various parameters are effective in the motion of carbon nanotubes. One of these parameters is the dielectric constant of carbon nanotubes and medium(ε), and the other is the distance between the microelectrodes. We have investigated the effect of medium and CNTs dielectric constant in rate and direction of motion of carbon nanotubes and the effect of distance between the microelectrodes on the electric field. We present the mechanism of motion of CNTs and model this observed phenomenon based on dielectrophoretic force. The motion direction of a metallic CNTs (m-CNTs) with semiconducting CNTs (s-CNTs) is different at high frequencies and also the displacement of metallic and semiconducting CNT is different in vary mediums.
