Highly Conductive Polyurethane/Polyaniline-Based Composites for Wearable Electronic Applications

Here we demonstrated a novel hybrid type of electrically conductive composite (ECC) consisting of conductive fillers and conductive polymer incorporated stretchable polymer matrix, which provides ultrahigh conductivity, good adhesion and interconnectivity. Particularly, we incorporated a conjugated conductive polymer, polyaniline (PANI), into a stretchable polyurethane (PU) matrix. For the design of polymer architecture, we designed an interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) structure, where PANI network can support the electron conduction throughout the whole matrix while the PU network can provide stretchability to the overall composite material.
