“Japanese industry” has long been (a) studying, (b) evaluating the commercialrnfeasibility of nuclear energy “Non-electrical applications”, high temperature applications by “HighrnTemperature Gas Cooled Reactor (HTGR)” plant in particular, through participation in the HighrnTemperature Engineering and Test Reactor (HTTR) project, etc. and ? proposing to the government.rnRecently new possibilities of such applications have been listed up by Japanese industry, such as “Fuelrncell vehicles (FCVs), “Hydrogen towns” and “Chemical complexes (Kombinates)”, for example, inrnwhich high temperature nuclear heat, hydrogen, oxygen, and/or steam are to be supplied.
