Flushing sediment deposits by water discharges at Suzhouhe River Tidal Barrier

Deposition below many tidal barriers, located in river mouths with large areas of mud deposits, impairs seriously the operation of barriers and releasing of river flood and waterlogging. Due to the complexity of real conditions, theoretical calculations cannot be carried out systematically and precisely. Field experiments were made at Suzhouhe River tidal barrier, a distinct tidal barrier with 17 sluice gates located in Shanghai China, for different water levels and operation modes.
