Thchnology for the Production of Gasoline Oxygenate -- Mtbe and Tame in China

摘要

The production of ethers as gasoline blender has been increasing rather rapidly in China in recent years along with the successful development of etherification technology. So far, 21commercial MTBE units have been set up with a total capacity amounting 0.26Mt/a. Four types of MTBE synthesis technologies and two types of etherification technologies for FCC C_5 fraction and FCC light gasoline have been developed. Other two types novel synthesis processes employing zeolite catalysts are being developed. This paper summarizes the current status of ethers' production in China, presents the results of R & D in etherification, prospects for the future of the production of ethers in China.
