Hybrid thermoplastic composites provide desirable properties of high strength and stiffness as well as low specific weight. Hence, they have become some of the most attractive materials in several industries, such as automotive and aerospace industries. As a result, the study of processing techniques has attracted considerable attention in recent years. One of the most common processing techniques for this composite is compression molding. This processing method is proper for composites contained high volume fraction of fiber and/or long fiber. However, the mechanical properties of compression molding parts varied with the processing condition. It is also very difficult to obtain dimensional stability in compression molding. The objective of this work was to characterize the effects of processing conditions on mechanical properties and dimensional stability of hybrid thermoplastic composites in compression molding.
