In the knowledge economy era innovations are key to sustainable development. Technical and vocational education(shortened as TVE) plays an important role in organizational innovations and technical innovations. Now a great challenge facing China is to find the ways of good living and working sustainably and how to change peopleȁ9;s ideas and behaviours toward sustainability is one of the most difficult and important problems for education. TVE should play a more important role to educate innovative ideas to Chinese people and become a crucial actor for Chinese sustainable development. Some suggestions are put forward for Chinese TVE toward this goal.
