"Securing the future". The name of “EAGE London 2007” reminded me a work we have done with Geosciences Azur, Sophia Antipolis, France: I propose to think with you about a french well known landslide which obliged civil authorities to close a road, and which still jeopardizes some inhabitants, the “La Clapière” rock slope, La Tinée, France. We processed a very interesting 4-month-long continuous in-situ seismological dataset in order to have more information about the landslide structure. The second step was to correlate these information with hydrological, meteorological, and GPS ones, to understand the dynamics of this rocky slope. Two major encouraging results were found: 1. Imaging of 2 slip planes using an unusual polarization event location. 2. A high correlation between rainfall and seismic activity on these planes. The door is now open for further knowledge such like path and even speed of the water infiltration.
