Topological consistency is the element of spatial data quality that deals with the structural integrity of a given spatial database. Topological consistency check can ensure that the data in the database is accurate and guard the database against invalid updates. It is important in spatial data modeling. Some topological consistency check tools are implemented in two-dimensional space, but the theory and method for topological consistency check is still not complete in the three-dimensional space. This paper focuses on the investigation of orientation topolgical property of spatial objects in N-dimensional space (N>0) and then we design an topological consistency check tool according to this topological property. After reviewing the history of topological consistency with topological properties, we summarize the definition and algebra representation for spatial objects. Then we describe the orientation property for spatial objects and give the representation of them. Finally, we present a topological consistency check tool and demonstrate the implications of this tool. This tool can be used to test the error in spatial database and it is very important in improving the quality of spatial data and ensuring the integrity of spatial data structure.
