摘要

The octree representation of three-dimensional (3D) objects is a topic that has been studied in geography phenomenon in recent years. Although octree has compact data structure, it takes much time to convert code from 3D raster to octree. In this paper, Table Access, a rapid and efficient algorithm for converting 3D raster to octree is presented. According to the peculiarity of Morton code, Conting Sort that has linear time is employed in sorting code. Experiments on PC demonstrate the fact that the CPU time for converting and sorting code using proposed algorithm would be shortened greatly. The result of this study wil produce positive driving effect in the process of 3D data model from theory to practice.
