摘要

Wave energy has a significant potential forrnexploitation. Before exploitation of wave energy, wernmust understand the temporal and spatialrncharacteristics of wave energy which is called wavernenergy assessment. In this paper, based on 2009-2013rnAVISO multi-satellites merged altimeter data byrnCNES&CLS, assessments of wave fields and wavernenergy resources were carried out for the East ChinarnSea. Firstly, based on the relationship betweenrnnon-dimensional wave height and wave age, anrnempirical inversion model of mean wave period wasrnestablished. And then wave fields’ data were retrievedrnfrom AVISO data in recent 4 years in the East ChinarnSea. Next some factors about wave energy wererncalculated. The distributions and seasonal variabilityrnof wave fields and wave energy were assessed in detailrnby the results above in the East China Sea. The resultsrncan provide some references for wave energyrnexploitation and utilization in the East China Sea.
