Abstract: The design and application of a digital high sped imagedata capturing system with a following image processingsystem applied to the Bremer Hochschul HyperschallkanalBHHK is the content of this presentation. It is alsothe result of the cooperation between the departmentsaerodynamic and image processing at the ZARM-instituteat the Drop Tower of Brennen. Similar systems are usedby the combustion working group at ZARM and otherexternal project partners. The BHHK, camera- and imagestorage system as well as the personal computer basedimage processing software are described next. Someexamples of images taken at the BHHK are shown toillustrate the application. The new and veryuser-friendly Windows 32-bit system is capable tocapture all camera data with a maximum pixel clock of43 MHz and to process complete sequences of images inone step by using only one comfortable program. !8
