摘要

This paper will develop a theoretical extension of Lawton and Nahemow's Competence-Press Model by positing the model's implications for study of organizational competence. It does so by first briefly reviewing the original competence-press model followed by a reconceptualization of the key constructs necessitated by shifting the level of analysis from the individual to the organization. Interpretations arising from this new Organizational Competence-Press Model (OCPM) are discussed. Projections for potential development and use of this model in theory, research and practice conclude the paper.
