Decommissioning Initiative on Commercial Nuclear Power Plants in Japan

After the 3-11-2011 Earthquake in Japan, couples of commercial nuclear power plants decided to commence in decommissioning whereas utilities have been planning plant license extension before the earthquake. It resulted utilities to expedite preparation for decommissioning in a short-term and needed the state-of-art decommissioning technologies and execution. This paper summarizes current status of decommissioning plans and applicable technologies.
