Electro-stimulated Release of Anionic and Cationic Drugs from Chitosan Hydrogels

Medium and high molecular weight chitosan hydrogels,loaded with diclofenac sodium or metformin HCl wereformulated. The release of both drugs from the hydrogelscould be increased under the influence of electric currentbut metformin was release more easily than diclofenac.High molecular weight hydrogel were more sensitive toelectric current.
