NEW FLEXIBLIZED, HIGHLY CROSSLINKED 100 SOLIDS EPOXY LININGS for INDUSTRIAL and MARINE APPLICATIONS

Metal and concrete surfaces require long lasting, easily applied protection systems. Applications using new flexible and high performance 100% solids; '0' VOC, epoxy products in many on-shore, off-shore, and underwater environments will be discussed. Specialty formulated, sprayable thin film (10-60 mil), and pumpable/trowelable thick film (80-120 mil) 100% solids epoxies are described which are used to rebuild and protect surfaces from chemical and abrasive attack. These products use propriety formulations incorporating the newest epoxy technology to resist environments ranging from cold salt and brackish water to hot, strong acids and caustics and temperatures from below freezing up to 260℃(500℉). Both the flexible epoxies and conventional heavily filled materials are used in many areas where previously only especially hardened metals were used. Applications of a USA EPA approved Anti-Fouling Coating using copper in a 100% solids epoxy matrix and it long term effectiveness will be discussed. Projects include both stationary (circulating water tunnels, trash screens, etc.) and mobile (ships, barges, etc.) surfaces. Concrete repair and restoration as well as long term protection will be described using a new, permeable 100% solids epoxy concrete sealer and appropriately selected topcoats. Protection of concrete floors, walkways, secondary containment areas, sumps, and other concrete surfaces from highly abrasive and/or corrosive conditions will be described. Anti-slip products for use on wet and icy surfaces will be discussed with regard to ease of application, cost effectiveness, and performance.
