AN OPTIMIZATION MODEL FOR BUS RAPID TRANSIT

摘要

This paper develops a new model, aiming to maximize the efficiency ofrnbus rapid transit (BRT) system (i.e. maximize direct-through travelers on unit lengthrnof BRT route). Since the problem is NP-hard, a heuristic algorithm, based on antrncolony optimization, is developed. With a numerical test from Dalian City, China, therneffectiveness of the model and the algorithm is examined.
