Research on Flame- Retardant Technique in Application of Asphalt Pavement inHighway Tunnel

摘要

Highway tunnels are mostly paved with asphalt concrete pavement. One of therncomponents, asphalt is inflammable. And once it is ignited, large quantities of heat,rnsmoke and poisonous gas are released and spread quickly, in tunnel fire, which willrncause the difficulties of the escape and rescue seriously. This paper presents researchrnon mineral-inorganic flame-retardant used in asphalt concrete pavement to avoid thernhuge damage caused by tunnel fires. The mechanism of flame retardancy wasrninvestigated systematically based on plenty of tests. Results indicated that thernflame-retardant technique can slow the fire spreading and prolong the time of escapernand rescue.
