This paper applies the cluster analysis method to categorize the 17 samplerncompanies in a high-tech park in terms of their workshop area. First of all, the annualrnfreight traffic volume per unit workshop area has been used as the index to clusterrnthe 17 sample companies into 4 groups. The results show that each group ofrncompanies produces the similar products. Secondly, the workshop area or site area ofrna company correlates well with its annually generated freight traffic. The regressionrnanalysis shows a linear correlation between the workshop area (or site area) of therncompany and its annual freight traffic volume. These models can be applied tornpredict the freight traffic volume for the planning high-tech park.
