In the 0.5Cr-0.5Mo-0.3V steel a pronounced effect of proof stress at room temperature on the creep rupture strength is still in evidence at relatively high temperature up to 575deg C . It was found that increasing of proof stress from 275 to 550 MPa almost doubled the creep rupture strength in 100,000 h at 575 deg C . In 2.25Cr1.0Mo steel such a strong favourable effect is discernible only at lower temperaturres up to about 500 deg C .
