Educating, inspiring and developing creative and innovative designers. Most of us are bornrncreative and artistically sensitive, and this paper argues that it is the individual that is endowedrnwith aesthetic sensitivity and creative mind, and not necessarily a profession as a whole. We losernthese qualities during the education process imposed on us and thus appropriate education isrncritical if creativity is to flourish. At the same time technologies are advancing so rapidly thatrncollaborative design team work is the only way forward, and creative collaboration also has to bernlearned. As a part of this process we have to learn how to formulate questions that are sociallyrnrelevant and that our work must address as a structure, or a building, is not an inevitable outcomernof a designer’s contribution and response to a brief.
