Tributary strategies in the middle potomac river basin of the chesapeake bay

Maryland's Tributary Strategies ar a recent addition to the historic Chesapeake Bay Agreemnet,signed in 1987 to adress the problem of excess nutrients and hteir impacts upon the nation's larest and most productive esturry.Throught the Agreement,the Chesapeake Bay Commission,Environemtla protection Agency,and the states of Maryland,Virginia,Pennsylvania,and District of columbia formally agreed to work together toe adhieve a 40 percent reduction in nitrogen and phosphorous reaching the Bay by the year 2000.Other wate quality,habitat,and stewardship goals were also adopted.
