We investigated the use of prefabricated, non-porousrnpoly(propylene fumarate)-based matrices for the sustainedrnrelease of the anti-inflammatory drug fluocinolonernacetonide for ocular applications. We fabricatedrnpoly(propylene fumarate)-based matrices loaded withrnfluocinolone acetonide by photo-crosslinking ofrnpoly(propylene fumarate) with N-vinyl pyrrolidone.rnFluocinolone acetonide release was sustained in vitro overrn27 weeks, and the release kinetics were controlled byrnvarying the drug loading and the N-vinyl pyrrolidone tornpoly(propylene fumarate) weight ratio.
