The ability of tri- and mono- mannosylatedrnliposomes to target and to activate human monocyternderived dendritic cells (hMoDC) and murine bonernmarrow derived dendritic cells (BMDC) wasrninvestigated. Neither hMoDC nor BMDC werernactivated to a greater degree by any mannosylatedrnliposome formulation than non-mannosylatedrnformulations despite increased uptake. This mayrnreflect a lack of danger signal associated withrnmannosylated liposomal delivery of antigen torndendritic cells (DC).
