When performing an Environmental Stress Screening vibration test on a unit using six degrees ofrnfreedom shakers, it is necessary to understand how the system operates and how to design a proper testrnfixture for the test. Whereas Electro-Dynamic (ED) shaker fixtures are mostly stiff and heavy, RepetitivernShock (RS) fixtures are less stiff, or semi-rigid and light. With lighter fixtures, energy transfers to the testrnunit at lower frequencies. There are many electronic units that have low natural frequencies.
