This paper is intended to provide practical guidance for Project Managers who have little or no experience managing design professionals and construction contractors during the development of aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) wells. The information contained herein is drawn from the direct experience of the author in development of such wells at the Calleguas Municipal Water District (CMWD), during the ongoing design and construction of CMWD's North Las Posas Basin (NLPB) ASR project. The NLPB ASR project is a programmatic capital improvement project, which includes 30 ASR wells in 3 wellfields. The ultimate goal of the overall project is the storage of 100,000 to 300,00 acre-feet (AF) in the Las Posas Ground Water Basin.
