Flux rolling is a novel process in which flux is mechanically alloyed into the clad surface of the braze sheet. A mechanically alloyed braze sheet provides for a more robust braze process by incorporating the flux directly into the clad eliminating the need to apply flux to the pre-assembled heat exchanger. The process improves the quality of the heat exchangers by providing a uniform flux loading on the surface of the braze sheet reducing potential warranty issues such as porosity in braze joints and minimal or no flux coverage in critical design areas.
