We report on the status of a novel imaging spectrometer design based on aberration-corrected holographic gratings. The goal of the work is to develop optical designs with high spatial resolution and high sensitivity over a narrow wavelength bandpass, thus effectively creating a narrow-band imaging capability. Ideally the narrow-band capability can be used to observe astrophysical phenomena at key diagnostic lines hsort-ward the short-wavelength transmission cut-off of lithium fluoride (1050A) while simultaneously controlling the intense geocoronal Lyman alpha emission at 1216A. For example OVI 1032, 1038A emission from a fast shock can be observed with arc-second resolution over a 5 arc-minute field of view.
