The transition metal oxide thin films have been used in electrochromic devices, solid state mocrobatteries and display panels. The materials in theis category that have attracted most of research itnerest are MoO_3, WO_3 and IrO_x. Molybdenum oxide films shows some ocmmon properties with tungsten oxide. This paper reports the preparation of MoO_3 and its surface structure properties. The starting materials were MoO_3 powder (with purity of 99.95
