In the last time a new generation of high-pressure discharge lamps appeared since several years now. These lamps are the metal-halide (MH) discharges. In the lighting skill these are interesting because they have a very good colour rendering index, high efficacy and colour appearance. But these lamps are not only used in lighting engineering but also for specific applications, like photo-polymerisation, water cleaning or chemical applications, Many models were created to describe the metal-halide lamp functioning, but all models were made under simplified assumptions. Taking into account the segregation effect and the influence of the convection and cataphoresis can explain the colour appearance changing. Despite these applications the understanding of the physical and chemical processes is not complete. To have a good lamp design is necessary to understand manifold of basic physical processes. In our paper we present a spectral analysis of two metal halide lamps: Uvaprint and Blue-Point. This analysis is focused to the emissions of some metal lines with respect to the power input. This allows the spectral emission control in function of the desired applications.
