Surface enhanced optical third-harmonic generation in silver island films

摘要

Surface-enhanced optical third-harmonic generation (THG) is observed in silver island films. The THG intensity from 2-D array of silver nanoparticles is enhanced by two orders of magnitude and the enhancement is attributed to the local field resonance at third-harmonic wavelength mediated by excitation of the local surface plasmons.
