摘要

In this paper, we have proposed a construction method of a geometric model of a brain tumor by the three-dimensional (3D) Active Sphere. 3D Active Sphere, which is a kind of energy-minimizing method, is able to extract the three-dimensional geometric model directly from the volumetric data composed of the MR slice images. Our proposed method uses two kinds of volumetric data to generate differential volumetric data. (One is the pre-contrast MR image data, and the other is the MR image data in which the contrasting tumor is emphasized.) By using the differential volumetric data as the image energy function of 3D Active Sphere, we have been able to generate the brain tumor geometric model more speedily and accurately than the previous methods.
