Effects of Design and Operating Parameters on Emissions from Oriented Strandboard Material Dryers

In 1995, the National Council of the Paper Industry for Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) published a database and technical bulletin that reported the results of emission tests conducted on 28 oriented strandboard (OSB) raw material dryers. The database reports the results of tests for several criteria and noncriteria pollutants. For the majority of the tests documented, data are reported on several dryer design and operating parameters, such as wood species, inlet and outlet moisture contents, inlet and otlet operating temperatures, and type of emission control device.
