The effects of the detector transient response on LWS data are discussed. The illuminator sequences are shown to display effects similar to those seen in laboratory experiments. In particular the response is dependent on the initial and final incident flux levels, and there is considerable difference between the detectors. The consistency of the detector response limits the damage to the drift calibration. The grating and FP observations also show transient current effects but it is not clear that these are entirely consistent with the effects in the illuminator sequences. A simple empirical model is used to provide some correction to the grating observations.
