摘要

In this work an AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructure MEMS mechanical resonator that shows three distinct resonance peaks is used to generate mode-locked mechanical vibrations. A gain feedback is established around the second mode so that the mode undergoes self-oscillation. Once self-oscillations takes hold the frequency of the oscillator is tuned by modifying the parameters of the feedback loop, until the frequency of the self-oscillating mode becomes commensurate with that of the first mode, which triggers a cascade of 3- and 4- wave mixing that excites the other 2 modes thus creating a multi-mode mechanical cavity.
