Beach profile modeling is still a task undergoing development.rnBecause of the simplifications required to the present day conventionalrnmodels, the applicability to real world problems remains limited. In addition, arnlot of physical parameters are involved in the application process, introducingrnunknown percentages of uncertainty and even randomness.rnThe main aim of this paper consists of finding a useful empirical relationshiprnbetween the shape of the crosshore profile, the incoming waves, the sedimentrnsize and the features of the bar. For this purpose and in order to make thernexercise more useful, a widely used and tested profile model (SBEACH) hasrnbeen selected. This paper is the first of a set checking all the involvedrnparameters.
