LOW COST SHORE PROTECTION METHOD USINGPRECASTED CONCRETE BLOCKS, ‘DRIM’

A method to control sediment transport by setting precasted concrete blocks on thernsea bottom has been tested through three dimensional movable bed experiments. Under the wavernpropagation, the shape of distorted ripples on the upper surface generates a stream to onerndirection and it is found that sediment movement can be controlled to intended direction byrnrotating the block unit. The results of experiments of bottom configuration change arernreproduced satisfactory by sophisticated numerical model.
