The study presented here aims to assess the feasibility of using advanced morphodynamicrnmodels in supporting barrier island breaching and storm surge modeling. Results so far include arnsuccessful validation of the Delft3D model against laboratory and prototype scale experiments ofrnbreaching of a sand dike. Work on including effects of swash runup and overtopping is ongoing.
