PRICING FORMULA FOR HARD COAL SOLD TO POWER PLANTS AND CHP PLANTS IN POLAND

Presently applied coal price formula was introduced in 1990 and - after some corrections in rn1994 ? is still used in majority of coal purchasing/selling contracts. This formula was rnprepared for the conditions of early 1990s. The changes, which occurred in Poland since that rntime, caused that the price structure of the formula became outdated, so modification of this rnprice structure proved to be necessary. The paper presents a new idea of steam coal price rnformula. It has been assumed that coal prices change proportionally to calorific value of coal. rnThe ballast elements (sulphur and ash content) decrease the coal price by the value of rnecological costs incurred during coal combustion. The structure of coal price is discussed and rnthe method of calculation of factors correcting the coal price is presented in the paper.
